Rockwool LRB mattresses are made up of fine fibers spun, obtained by melting specific rocks and further bonded with a thermosetting resin. It is manufactured by stitching the flexible blanket to hexagonal GI wire mesh. It can be faced on one side or both sides. The facings may be aluminium foil or galvanized wire mesh or stainless steel wire mesh, etc. The mattress provides excellent stability due to uniform thickness and density, resulting in the prevention of heat losses. Rockwool mattress is considered as lightweight thermal insulation for working temperatures up to 750°C. As these mattresses are flexible, they are ideally used for insulation of curved surfaces like industrial boiler insulation, hot air duct insulation, tank insulation, heat exchangers, reactors, ovens, and refrigeration equipment. These are available in different densities and thicknesses.
